Genocide

Why are there more Idi Amins, Mugabes and Pinochets than Gandhis, M.L. Kings and Sister Theresas? Does history confirm the argument that men are inherently evil?

Why do many freedom fighters become as evil as the tyrants they depose?

On the other hand, isn’t civilization itself, the arts and man’s compassion for others evidence that humans can be good without being forced to do so?

How about atrocities committed against neighbors because of race, religion, ethnicity or even which side of an arbitrary line someone lives?

I believe that the corruption of power is one factor that causes leaders to coerce/lead/force/command others to commit atrocities.

An interesting book on this subject is James Waller’s “Becoming Evil

Are psychopaths the product of bad environment, training or brain disorders?
