Henry Ford

Henry Ford was no socialist, but realized that if he paid his workers a decent wage they could buy the cars that he manufactured. “One dollar, one day, one year, one Ford”.  Model Ts sold for $365.00 in glorious black.

His competitors went up in smoke about him paying his workers too much money.

Ford’s workers ended up buying homes, sending their kids to college and living “The American Dream”.

Today the American Dream has been exported to China and increasingly cheaper labor pools where workers are paid subsistence wages, all for the corporate bottom-line. Unfortunately at the rate we are going less and less Americans will be able to afford even the cheap stuff made overseas.

Once-upon-a-time our cars, trucks and tools were the best in the world, now only our weapon systems are the best.
