Who are we?
Why do we define ourselves by who we are not like, hate and/or fear? King George, Northerners, Southerners, The Spanish, The Yellow Peril, Communists, Atheists, Viet Cong, North Koreans, Chinese, Iraqis, Iranians, The Taliban, Al Qaeda, Terrorists, Insurgents, Immigrants, The Homeless, the 1%, Wall Street, The Lobbyists, Right Wingers, Left Wingers, and all those other people not like us?
“Why can’t we take care of the least among us? Feed the hungry? Bind the wounds of the traveler left by the side of the road? Listen respectfully, respect all beliefs, and exhaust every diplomatic avenue before going to war?”
We have been hearing the same things about Iran that we heard about Iraq: Supporting Terrorists, WMDs, Extremists, Ignoring Sanctions, Refusing Inspections, Insane Leaders, Religious Fundamentalism, Hiding Nuclear Facilities, Embargo Not Working.
The American people do not need another war, even a push button drone war with no American casualties. Wars are making US poor.
