Land of opportunity?
Is America still the land of opportunity for those who want to work hard?
At one time that was the secret of success. Is that true anymore?
We have hungry children. Our education has dropped to second world class. Our health care lags behind most first world countries but costs a lot more.
We no longer make the best stuff in the world except for weapons systems.
But, things are still good enough that many people want to come here. Is it because things are a lot worse elsewhere?
Congress is at an 8% approval rating. We have one of the largest prison populations in the world.
These things are depressing. Maybe, but we are good people and we can do a lot better.
