Porkers that Swim
According to Feb. 16 Navy Times “Lawmakers want to boost Navy’s shipbuilding plan.”
US Representative Randy Forbes R-Va, the new chairman of the House Armed Services Seapower and Projected Forces Subcommittee, favors a 350 ship Navy. Half the requested submarines happen to be built “a stones’ throw” from Rep. Forbes’ 4th Virginia district.
US Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Seapower Subcommittee feels a great need for amphibious ships. It just happens that the biggest employer in his state of Mississippi is an amphibious ship builder.
Who needs these ships and subs, the Navy or these Congressmen?
